TINUBU: NYSC MEMBERS TO BE DEPLOYED TO SECURITY-CHALLENGED STATES BASED ON RISK ASSESSMENT
President Bola Tinubu has announced that, as part of ongoing reforms of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), corps members will now be deployed to security-challenged states based on comprehensive risk assessments.
The President said the new approach is intended to balance the objectives of the NYSC scheme with the safety and security of corps members serving across the country.
According to him, deployments to states facing security concerns will be guided by intelligence reports and professional risk evaluations to ensure that participants are not unnecessarily exposed to danger.
Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the NYSC scheme while strengthening the welfare, safety, and overall service experience of corps members.
He noted that the reforms are aimed at making the scheme more responsive to current security realities without compromising its role in promoting national unity and integration.
The President also assured parents, guardians, and prospective corps members that the Federal Government will continue working with security agencies to protect participants wherever they are posted.
The announcement comes amid ongoing efforts to reform the NYSC and address concerns over the safety of corps members in parts of the country.
