TINUBU HIGHLIGHTS ADMINISTRATION’S HEALTH SECTOR GAINS
President Bola Tinubu has outlined what he described as major achievements of his administration in the health sector, saying ongoing reforms are improving access to healthcare services across Nigeria.
According to the President, more than six million additional Nigerians have been enrolled in the National Health Insurance Scheme, expanding access to affordable healthcare for millions of citizens.
Tinubu also disclosed that 4,161 Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) are currently undergoing revitalisation nationwide, with 3,158 projects already completed as part of efforts to strengthen healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
He added that 14,283 Primary Healthcare Centres, representing more than half of all PHCs in Nigeria, are now fully functional and providing essential health services to communities across the country.
The President said the reforms are aimed at improving maternal and child healthcare, expanding immunisation, enhancing emergency medical services, and ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible to all Nigerians.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in health infrastructure, increasing healthcare financing, and supporting healthcare workers to build a more resilient health system.
Tinubu noted that the progress recorded so far reflects the government’s determination to deliver sustainable healthcare reforms and improve the well-being of Nigerians.
