PLATEAU GOV IMPOSES CURFEW IN THREE LGAS OVER KILLINGS
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has imposed an immediate dusk-to-dawn curfew in Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas following renewed killings and heightened security concerns across parts of the state.
The curfew, which took effect on Monday, September 21, 2026, restricts movement in the affected areas between 6pm and 6am until further notice.
The decision followed a fresh wave of attacks in Plateau State. At least nine people were reportedly killed in separate attacks between Saturday night and Sunday morning, including five passengers travelling to Gana-Ropp in Barkin Ladi.
The latest incidents came amid a series of attacks in Mangu, Barkin Ladi and surrounding communities in recent weeks, with authorities and community leaders expressing concern over the renewed violence.
The state government has continued to urge residents to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies and avoid reprisal attacks that could further escalate tensions.
Security agencies have also intensified operations across the affected areas, with troops recently arresting suspects and rescuing victims during security operations in the state.
