MAKINDE APPROVES ₦4.6BN FOR CIRCULAR ROAD COMPENSATION
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved ₦4.6 billion as the first tranche of compensation for property owners affected by the Ibadan Circular Road project.
The payment is aimed at compensating individuals whose properties and land fall within the corridor designated for the road construction.
The approval represents an initial phase of the compensation process, as the state government moves to address claims from property owners affected by the major infrastructure project.
The Ibadan Circular Road is designed to improve transportation, ease traffic congestion and strengthen connectivity across communities in and around the state capital.
The project has also generated concerns among some residents and landowners over property acquisition and compensation, making the payment process an important issue for affected communities.
The ₦4.6 billion approval is expected to support the first round of payments, although details of the beneficiaries and the schedule for disbursement were not provided in the information available.
