TINUBU: I’M CORRECTING MISTAKES OF PAST ADMINISTRATIONS, GIVE ME MORE TIME
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to give his administration more time to complete its programmes, saying the government is addressing what he described as the cumulative mistakes and missed opportunities of previous administrations.
Tinubu made the appeal through the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, during a special prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja to mark Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
The President said Nigerians should remain hopeful about the country’s future, stressing that peace and development were gradually returning to the country.
He described Nigeria’s 66 years of independence as a significant milestone, while acknowledging that the country’s journey had been marked by both challenges and opportunities.
According to Tinubu, his administration was focused on correcting what he described as the accumulated mistakes and missed opportunities of previous governments. He also maintained that Nigeria was on the right path and that the sacrifices made by citizens would eventually yield positive results.
The President appealed to Nigerians to give his government more opportunity to consolidate its policies and programmes and complete what he described as the “good work” it had started.
The event was attended by senior government officials, including Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, state governors, members of the National Assembly, ministers, Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume and military chiefs.
