TINUBU APPOINTS EX-UNILAG VC OGUNDIPE AS NUC CHAIRMAN
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, as the new Chairman of the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The appointment is expected to strengthen leadership at the country’s university regulatory body as efforts continue to improve the quality, standards, and global competitiveness of higher education in Nigeria.
Professor Ogundipe, a renowned academic and administrator, previously served as Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, where he was credited with promoting academic excellence, research development, and institutional growth.
According to the Presidency, the appointment reflects the administration’s commitment to repositioning Nigeria’s university system and enhancing the capacity of institutions to meet modern educational challenges.
