PRP CHIEFTAIN URGES OPPOSITION CANDIDATES TO UNVEIL ALTERNATIVE PLANS

A presidential aspirant of the Peoples Redemption Party, PRP, Yakubu Mohammed Kingsley, has challenged opposition candidates seeking to contest the 2027 presidential election to tell Nigerians what they intend to do differently if elected.

Kingsley said Nigerians deserve to know the policies, implementation strategies, resources required and expected results of the various alternatives being presented ahead of the election.

He said the 2027 presidential campaign should focus on ideas, policies, programmes and practical solutions rather than personal attacks, political exchanges or simply seeking to remove the incumbent government.

According to him, candidates should explain not only what they oppose but also what they intend to build and how they plan to deliver their proposed programmes.

Kingsley also said Nigeria’s challenges require more than political communication, stressing the importance of technical knowledge, institutional capacity, competent personnel, proper coordination, responsible planning and disciplined implementation.

He disclosed that his YMK Nigeria Project had developed what he described as an alternative national policy framework aimed at addressing the country’s challenges. He also said he was awaiting the Federal High Court’s November 2, 2026 judgment concerning the dispute over the PRP’s presidential primary.

Kingsley urged political parties, candidates, supporters and the media to raise the quality of the 2027 political discourse by focusing on competing policies, practical solutions and measurable development plans.
