POPOOLA IDENTIFIES KEY DRIVERS OF NIGERIA’S CAPITAL MARKET GROWTH
The Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group), Temi Popoola, has identified institutional collaboration, consistent government policies and global connectivity as key factors that could drive the growth of Nigeria’s capital market.
Popoola said stronger cooperation among market institutions and regulators would help improve efficiency, strengthen investor confidence and support sustainable market development.
He also highlighted the importance of policy consistency, noting that a stable regulatory environment can encourage long-term investment and enable businesses to plan for growth.
According to the NGX Group chief, connecting Nigeria’s capital market more closely with international markets could attract foreign investors, increase investment opportunities and improve the country’s competitiveness.
His remarks come as Nigeria continues efforts to deepen its capital market and mobilise funds to support businesses and economic development.
The emphasis on collaboration, predictable policies and global integration highlights the need for a coordinated approach to strengthening the market and attracting both domestic and international investment.
