Former Anambra State Governor and 2027 presidential hopeful, Peter Obi, has revealed plans to use a dual result transmission system to monitor election results during the 2027 general elections.
Obi said the proposed system would allow results from polling units to be transmitted through two separate channels to a central situation room for monitoring and verification.
According to him, the arrangement is intended to improve transparency and allow his team to track results as they emerge from polling units across the country.
The former governor said the system would also help his campaign identify discrepancies and compare results received through the different transmission channels.
His comments come as political parties and potential presidential candidates begin preparations for the 2027 elections, with technology and election transparency remaining key issues in the political debate.
Obi’s team is expected to provide further details on how the proposed result-monitoring system will operate as preparations for the election continue.
