OYO LAWMAKER PLEDGES ₦50M FOR STUDENTS’ LEGISLATIVE SUMMIT
A member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, Adedeji Olajide, has pledged ₦50 million to support the forthcoming Youth Legislative Summit aimed at empowering students and young leaders.
Olajide said the initiative is designed to encourage youth participation in governance, leadership, and democratic processes while equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed for public service.
The lawmaker also pledged to mentor young participants, stressing the importance of nurturing a new generation of responsible and visionary leaders capable of contributing to national development.
He noted that the summit would provide a platform for students to engage with policymakers, discuss legislative processes, and gain practical insights into governance and leadership.
Olajide further highlighted the need to bridge the digital divide among young people, promising continued support for initiatives that promote digital literacy, innovation, and access to technology in Oyo State.
He encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunity to develop leadership skills, build networks, and prepare themselves for future roles in public service and nation-building.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to investing in youth development through education, mentorship, and empowerment programmes that will help shape the next generation of leaders.
