ORTOM DENIES PLAN TO REPLACE BENUE PDP GOV CANDIDATE
Former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that there are plans to replace the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Michael Aondoakaa, ahead of the 2027 election.
In a statement, Ortom described the reports as false, misleading, and the handiwork of individuals seeking to create confusion and disunity within the party.
He reaffirmed that Michael Aondoakaa remains the duly nominated PDP governorship candidate and enjoys the full support of the party’s leadership and stakeholders in Benue State.
According to Ortom, there has been no discussion or decision at any level of the party regarding the replacement of the candidate, urging members and supporters to disregard the rumours.
The former governor called on PDP faithful to remain united and focused on strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections rather than being distracted by baseless speculation.
He also urged the public to verify political information through official party channels and avoid spreading unconfirmed reports capable of causing unnecessary tension.
Ortom reaffirmed his commitment to the unity and progress of the PDP in Benue State, expressing confidence that the party will continue working together to achieve success in the forthcoming elections.
