TINUBU RECEIVES ICPC’S INTERIM REPORT ON ‘FAKE’ AGENCY
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received the interim report submitted by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on the alleged activities of the controversial and purportedly “fake” Peace Fund for Innovation, Prosperity and Community Development (PFIPC).
The report is said to contain preliminary findings into the operations of the agency, including allegations of impersonation, abuse of public office, and the unlawful use of government identity.
According to the findings, the ICPC recommended the prosecution of Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew over his alleged role in the establishment and activities of the organisation.
The commission stated that investigations are still ongoing to determine the involvement of other individuals and to establish the full extent of the alleged misconduct.
The Presidency reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that anyone found culpable faces justice, regardless of status or political affiliation.
President Tinubu also directed that all relevant agencies continue to cooperate with investigators to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation into the matter.
The development follows growing public concern over the activities of the alleged agency, with the government assuring Nigerians that decisive action will be taken to safeguard the integrity of public institutions and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
