MAKINDE PROMISES IMPROVED SECURITY FOR OYO SCHOOLS

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has pledged to strengthen security across schools in the state, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to protecting students, teachers, and other education workers.
The governor said ensuring the safety of learning environments remains a top priority, especially amid growing concerns over attacks on schools in different parts of the country.
Makinde stated that the government would continue working closely with security agencies, community leaders, and school authorities to enhance surveillance and prevent security threats around educational institutions.
He noted that measures are being implemented to improve emergency response, intelligence gathering, and coordination to ensure schools remain safe for teaching and learning.
The governor also urged parents, teachers, and residents to support the government’s efforts by reporting suspicious activities and cooperating with security agencies.
According to him, a secure educational environment is essential for improving learning outcomes, boosting enrolment, and giving children the confidence to pursue their education without fear.
Makinde reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to invest in both education and security, stressing that protecting schools is crucial to the future development of Oyo State.
