LAGOS BEGINS CONSULTATIONS WITH RESIDENTS

The Lagos State Government has commenced consultations with residents across the state’s five divisions as part of preparations for the 2027 budget.
The consultation exercise is aimed at giving residents, community leaders and other stakeholders the opportunity to present their needs and priorities before the budget is finalised.
The government said the process is designed to ensure that the 2027 budget reflects the needs of people across different communities and sectors of the state.
Officials are expected to engage residents and stakeholders on key areas requiring government attention, including infrastructure, transportation, healthcare, education and other essential services.
The consultations are also expected to strengthen transparency and accountability in the state’s budget process by allowing residents to contribute directly to the government’s spending priorities.
The Lagos State Government said feedback gathered during the engagements would help guide the preparation of the 2027 budget.
The exercise comes as the state begins early planning for the next fiscal year, with the government seeking broader public participation in determining its development priorities.
