KOGI GOV GIVES ₦20,000 TO 1,490 NYSC MEMBERS
Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo has given ₦20,000 each to 1,490 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state.
The donation, which amounts to ₦29.8 million, is intended to support the corps members with transportation and other expenses during their service year.
The governor’s gesture was announced as part of efforts to support and appreciate young Nigerians contributing to the development of the state through the NYSC programme.
The 1,490 corps members are expected to benefit from the financial assistance, which will provide some relief as they carry out their primary assignments across Kogi State.
The state government said the initiative reflects its commitment to the welfare of corps members and recognition of their service to the state.
The NYSC programme deploys young graduates to different parts of the country to promote national integration and contribute to communities through their various areas of expertise.
The governor’s support is expected to further encourage the corps members to remain committed to their duties and make meaningful contributions during their service year.
