KATSINA OFFERS OLIVE BRANCH: GOV Radda PROMISES FRESH START FOR REPENTANT BANDITS
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has extended a reintegration offer to repentant bandits willing to abandon criminal activities and embrace peace.
The governor said the initiative is part of efforts to restore lasting security in troubled communities and encourage those involved in banditry to return to lawful and productive lives.
According to Radda, individuals who genuinely surrender their weapons, renounce violence, and commit to peaceful coexistence will be considered for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
He stressed that the offer is not a sign of weakness but a strategic approach aimed at reducing violence, rebuilding communities, and creating opportunities for lasting peace.
The governor, however, warned that security agencies would continue to pursue and confront criminal elements who refuse to abandon banditry and other violent activities.
The announcement has generated mixed reactions, with some stakeholders welcoming the peace initiative while others insist that justice must remain a key part of any reconciliation process.
