IRU EKUN SECURITY VOLUNTEERS EXCEED 80,000, SAYS IGBOHO

Yoruba nation activist Sunday Igboho has announced that the Iru Ekun Security Network now has more than 80,000 registered volunteers, describing the development as a major boost to community-based security efforts across the South-West.
Igboho said the growing number of volunteers reflects increasing public confidence in the security outfit and the commitment of local communities to safeguarding lives and property.
According to him, the activities of the network have contributed to a reduction in cases of kidnapping and other criminal activities in several parts of the region through intelligence gathering and community vigilance.
He commended residents, traditional rulers, and community leaders for their support, noting that collective efforts have strengthened the effectiveness of the security initiative.
Igboho also urged volunteers to remain disciplined, operate within the law, and continue collaborating with relevant authorities to maintain peace and security.
He reiterated that the primary objective of the Iru Ekun Security Network is to complement existing security efforts by protecting communities and responding promptly to local security challenges.
The announcement comes amid continued calls for stronger community policing and enhanced security measures to tackle rising insecurity in different parts of the country.
