INEC, DSS PROBE ALLEGED VOTER DATA LEAK AS ATIKU RAISES ALARM
Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has called for a full-scale investigation into the alleged leak of sensitive voter information from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) database.
The development has reportedly triggered concern within political and security circles, with both INEC and the Department of State Services (DSS) said to be examining the claims.
Atiku warned that any compromise of voter data could threaten the credibility of future elections and undermine public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process.
The former Vice President urged authorities to swiftly uncover those behind the alleged breach and ensure the protection of citizens’ personal information ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Meanwhile, concerns continue to grow among political stakeholders over cybersecurity and the integrity of electoral systems in the country.
