GBAJABIAMILA SUES ‘FAKE’ AGENCY DG, DEMANDS ₦15BN OVER DEFAMATION
President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, has filed a ₦15 billion defamation lawsuit against Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, who describes himself as the Director-General of the alleged PFIPC, over accusations of corruption and kickback demands.
According to court documents, Gbajabiamila contends that the allegations made against him are false, malicious, and defamatory, and have seriously damaged his reputation and integrity.
The suit seeks ₦15 billion in damages, a public retraction of the allegations, a formal apology, and a perpetual injunction restraining the defendant from making or publishing further defamatory statements against him.
Gbajabiamila maintains that he has never demanded or received any kickbacks as alleged and insists the claims were fabricated to tarnish his image and mislead the public.
The legal action follows weeks of controversy surrounding the self-styled agency and its claims, which have attracted widespread public attention and political reactions.
The Chief of Staff has consistently denied any wrongdoing, insisting that the matter should be resolved through the courts rather than speculation or trial by social media.
The case is expected to test the allegations in court, where both parties will have the opportunity to present evidence in support of their respective positions.
