The Federal Ministry of Education has dismissed reports alleging that the Nigeria Education Management Information System (NEMIS) suffered a cyberattack, insisting that the platform remains secure and fully operational.
In a statement, the ministry described the reports as false and misleading, assuring stakeholders that there has been no breach compromising the integrity of education data stored on the system.
Officials explained that NEMIS continues to function normally and remains a critical platform for collecting, managing, and analyzing educational data across the country.
The ministry stressed that robust cybersecurity measures are in place to protect sensitive information and safeguard the platform against potential threats.
According to authorities, regular monitoring and security assessments are conducted to ensure the system remains resilient and capable of supporting educational planning and policy implementation.
The clarification comes amid growing concerns over cybersecurity and data protection, with the ministry urging the public to disregard unverified reports and rely on official sources for accurate information.
