Former Bayelsa State Governor and Senator, Seriake Dickson, has called on members of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) and political supporters to refrain from name-calling and personal attacks as political activities intensify.
Dickson made the appeal while receiving former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, stressing the need for issue-based engagement and mutual respect among political actors.
The senator warned that insults, hostility, and divisive rhetoric could undermine efforts to build a stronger democratic movement capable of addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
According to him, political disagreements should not degenerate into personal attacks, emphasizing that unity, tolerance, and constructive dialogue remain essential for national development.
Peter Obi’s visit is seen as part of ongoing consultations and engagements among opposition figures ahead of future political developments.
Dickson urged supporters to focus on ideas, policies, and solutions rather than engaging in actions that could create unnecessary divisions within the political space.
