ENGINEERS CALL FOR COLLABORATION TO IMPROVE NIGERIA’S POWER SUPPLY
Engineers have called for stronger collaboration between the government and industry stakeholders to accelerate Nigeria’s energy transition and improve electricity supply for economic growth.
They stressed that cooperation between policymakers, engineers, energy companies and investors would be essential to developing a more reliable and sustainable energy system.
The call comes amid persistent electricity supply challenges affecting households, businesses and industries across the country.
The engineers said coordinated efforts could help attract investment, promote technological innovation and support the development of renewable energy sources alongside improvements to existing power infrastructure.
They also highlighted the importance of technical expertise and consistent policies in addressing challenges within Nigeria’s energy sector.
Improving electricity supply remains a major concern for manufacturers and small businesses, many of which rely on expensive alternative power sources to maintain operations.
The engineers maintained that collaboration among relevant stakeholders would be crucial to delivering a more reliable energy system and supporting Nigeria’s long-term economic development.
