President Bola Tinubu has urged state governors to emulate the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, in providing affordable and accessible mass transportation for residents through the use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).

Tinubu made the call while highlighting efforts by governments to reduce transportation costs and ease the economic burden on Nigerians.

The President pointed to Kaduna State’s CNG-powered mass transit initiative under Governor Uba Sani as an example of how states can use alternative energy sources to provide cheaper transportation services.

The initiative is aimed at reducing commuters’ transportation costs while supporting the Federal Government’s broader transition to CNG as an alternative to petrol and diesel.

Tinubu encouraged other governors to explore similar transportation initiatives within their states, particularly measures that can directly benefit workers, students and other commuters.

The call comes as federal and state governments continue to implement measures aimed at reducing the impact of transportation costs on households and businesses.
