Indian authorities have arrested three Nigerian nationals over their alleged involvement in a drug trafficking syndicate operating in the country.
According to law enforcement officials, the suspects were apprehended during a coordinated operation that led to the seizure of suspected illicit drugs and other items believed to be connected to the alleged criminal network.
Police said preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects were part of a wider drug distribution ring, adding that efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest other members of the syndicate.
The authorities noted that forensic analysis and further investigations will determine the full extent of the alleged operation, while the suspects are expected to face prosecution in accordance with Indian law.
Officials also reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug trafficking and other transnational crimes through intelligence-led operations and international cooperation.
The arrests come amid intensified efforts by Indian security agencies to dismantle organised drug networks and curb the illegal narcotics trade.
Further updates are expected as investigations progress and court proceedings commence.
