A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Princewill Dike, has urged President Bola Tinubu to consider appointing the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as Director-General of his campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Dike reportedly made the appeal while addressing party stakeholders, stating that Wike’s political experience and grassroots influence could help strengthen mobilisation efforts and improve the party’s chances in key regions.

According to him, effective campaign coordination and strategic planning would be crucial in consolidating support for the ruling party as preparations gradually begin for the next electoral cycle.

He also emphasised the need for unity among party leaders and supporters, noting that collaboration across political structures could enhance organisational strength and voter outreach.

Political analysts say the suggestion reflects ongoing discussions within party circles about potential campaign strategies and alliances as political actors begin positioning ahead of future elections.

However, observers note that any official decision regarding campaign leadership would depend on internal consultations within the party and the President’s broader political calculations.
