OLUBADAN ELEVATES OYO APC GOV CANDIDATE ALLI TO ‘EKERIN BALOGUN’

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has elevated the Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, to the traditional title of Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland.

The elevation was announced as part of the traditional process of recognising and conferring chieftaincy titles on individuals within Ibadanland.

Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, is the APC candidate for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.

The new title places Alli among the traditional chiefs serving within the Olubadan-in-Council structure of Ibadanland.

The development comes as political activities continue to build ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.

Alli is expected to continue his political campaign and engagement with stakeholders across the state as the election approaches.
