The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has assured students that upkeep allowance payments under the student loan scheme are continuing as scheduled.
The agency dismissed reports suggesting that the payment process had been suspended, describing such claims as false and misleading.
According to NELFUND, eligible beneficiaries across participating institutions are still receiving their approved upkeep support in line with the programme’s guidelines.
Officials urged students and members of the public to disregard misinformation circulating online regarding delays or cancellation of payments.
NELFUND reaffirmed its commitment to supporting students through financial assistance aimed at improving access to higher education and reducing economic hardship.
The student loan and upkeep initiative remains one of the Federal Government’s major education support programmes targeting students in tertiary institutions nationwide.
Education stakeholders say the scheme has provided relief for many students struggling with tuition fees, living expenses and other academic costs.
The agency also encouraged beneficiaries to rely only on verified official communication channels for updates concerning the programme.
Students were advised to report issues or payment concerns directly to the appropriate NELFUND support platforms for clarification and assistance.
