𝗢𝘆𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳: 𝗧𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗯𝘂, 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗯𝘂, 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗣𝗖 𝗚𝘂𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 — 𝗦𝗵𝗶𝘁𝘁𝘂

A former Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu, has stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will ultimately determine who emerges as the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Oyo State for the 2027 election.

Shittu made the remark while addressing the growing discussions within the party regarding potential aspirants ahead of the next governorship race in the state.

According to him, the influence and leadership role of President Tinubu within the APC mean that his position will be crucial in deciding who flies the party’s flag in the election.

The former minister noted that while individuals may show interest in the race, the final decision will depend largely on the party’s leadership and consultations involving key stakeholders.

He also stressed the need for unity within the Oyo State chapter of the APC, urging members to work together in preparation for the 2027 governorship election.

Shittu added that the party must prioritise consensus, cooperation and strong leadership if it hopes to reclaim power in Oyo State.
