Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu played a key role in stopping his impeachment when he served as deputy governor of the state in 2023.

Speaking during a media chat with selected journalists on Friday, Aiyedatiwa said Tinubu’s intervention helped calm the political tension that surrounded the impeachment process at the time.

The governor expressed appreciation to the president, noting that the situation could have escalated further if not for Tinubu’s timely involvement in resolving the crisis.

Aiyedatiwa explained that the political atmosphere in Ondo State was tense during the period, but the intervention helped restore stability within the state’s leadership.

He added that the move demonstrated Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring peace and unity within the ruling All Progressives Congress and the country’s political landscape.

The governor also reiterated his administration’s commitment to delivering development and good governance to the people of Ondo State.
