President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed satisfaction over what he described as improving economic conditions in Nigeria, stating that many states are now able to pay workers’ salaries without depending heavily on federal intervention.
Speaking on the nation’s economy, the President said ongoing reforms and increased revenue generation have helped improve the financial capacity of several state governments.
According to Tinubu, the ability of states to meet salary obligations more consistently is a positive sign that the economy is gradually recovering.
The President also maintained that his administration’s policies are aimed at strengthening fiscal stability, boosting internally generated revenue and creating long-term economic growth.
He noted that economic reforms often require sacrifice and patience but insisted the country is beginning to witness positive results.
Tinubu further assured Nigerians that efforts are ongoing to improve infrastructure, investment, employment opportunities and national productivity.
Political observers say the remarks come amid continued public debate over inflation, rising living costs and the impact of economic reforms introduced by the Federal Government.
Supporters of the administration argue that increased allocations to states and fiscal adjustments have improved financial stability at the sub-national level.
Critics, however, continue to call for stronger relief measures to ease hardship faced by many Nigerians despite signs of economic recovery.
