The Federal Government has warned Nigerians against travelling out of the country without valid international passports, visas and other required travel documents.
According to government officials, the warning became necessary following increasing reports of Nigerians facing detention, deportation and legal issues abroad due to improper or invalid travel documentation.
Authorities advised travellers to ensure all immigration and visa requirements are properly verified before embarking on international trips.
The government also urged citizens to avoid illegal migration routes and remain cautious of fraudulent travel agents and fake visa arrangements.
Officials stressed that possessing valid travel documents is important for personal safety, lawful entry into foreign countries and compliance with international immigration regulations.
The advisory comes amid growing concerns over irregular migration, human trafficking and travel-related scams affecting many Nigerians seeking opportunities abroad.
Travel and immigration experts say proper documentation helps reduce the risk of arrest, exploitation and immigration violations in foreign countries.
The Federal Government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Nigerian citizens overseas while encouraging legal and responsible international travel.
Nigerians planning to travel were also advised to stay informed about the immigration policies and entry requirements of their destination countries.
