WIKE REMAINS OUR VALUABLE ASSET, PDP TELLS APC
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has insisted that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, remains a valuable asset to the party despite his role in the APC-led Federal Government.
The party dismissed suggestions that Wike’s appointment and continued service under President Bola Tinubu’s administration amount to a permanent political alignment with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to PDP leaders, Wike remains a prominent member whose contributions to the party’s growth, electoral successes, and political influence cannot be overlooked.
The party maintained that political appointments do not automatically determine a politician’s party affiliation, stressing that Wike’s status within the PDP remains unchanged.
PDP officials also accused the APC of attempting to exploit internal differences within the opposition party for political advantage, insisting that the party remains united and focused on rebuilding ahead of future elections.
The development comes amid ongoing debates over Wike’s political future and his relationship with both the PDP and the APC-led Federal Government.
Observers believe the former Rivers State governor will continue to play a significant role in Nigeria’s political landscape as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually gather momentum.
