SANWO-OLU URGES SWDC TO FAST-TRACK SOUTH-WEST DEVELOPMENT
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged the South West Development Commission (SWDC) to accelerate efforts aimed at driving economic growth and tackling the socio-economic challenges facing the region.
Speaking at an engagement with stakeholders, the governor said the commission has a crucial responsibility to deliver projects and policies that will improve the lives of people across the six South-West states.
Sanwo-Olu stressed that the South-West remains one of Nigeria’s major economic hubs and requires strategic investments in infrastructure, transportation, education, healthcare, agriculture, technology, and industrial development.
He called on the commission to prioritise regional integration and work closely with state governments, the private sector, and development partners to achieve sustainable growth.
According to the governor, effective collaboration among stakeholders will help unlock the region’s economic potential, create employment opportunities, and improve the standard of living for residents.
Sanwo-Olu also expressed confidence that the SWDC can play a transformative role in addressing development gaps and strengthening the South-West’s competitiveness within Nigeria and across West Africa.
He urged the commission to focus on delivering tangible results that will have a lasting impact on communities throughout the region.
