SANWO-OLU INSPECTS VANDALISED FESTAC-ALAKIJA BRIDGE, ASSURES LAGOSIANS OF SAFETY

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has inspected the Festac-Alakija Bridge following reports of vandalism and damage to parts of the infrastructure.
During the inspection, the governor assessed the extent of the damage and received updates from relevant officials on the condition of the bridge.
Sanwo-Olu assured Lagos residents that the bridge remains a priority for the state government and that necessary measures would be taken to ensure the safety of motorists and other road users.
The governor expressed concern over the vandalism, stressing that the destruction of public infrastructure poses a serious threat to lives and undermines government efforts to provide efficient transportation infrastructure.
He directed relevant authorities to strengthen surveillance around the bridge and other critical infrastructure across the state to prevent further acts of vandalism.
Sanwo-Olu also warned that individuals found responsible for the damage would face the full consequences of the law. He urged residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing information that could help identify and apprehend those involved.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining Lagos’ road infrastructure and ensuring that major bridges remain safe and functional for residents and businesses.
He appealed to Lagosians to protect public infrastructure, noting that such facilities belong to the people and are essential to the state’s economic activities.
