POLICE NAB 25 ILLEGAL ALIENS IN LAGOS, SUSPECTS CLAIM THEY CAME FOR CRUSADE

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 25 foreign nationals suspected of residing illegally in Nigeria during a security operation in the state.
According to police authorities, the individuals were unable to provide valid immigration documents during preliminary checks and questioning.
Some of the suspects reportedly claimed they had entered the country to attend a religious crusade, a statement now being investigated by relevant authorities.
The police said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security, verify the status of foreign nationals, and prevent criminal elements from exploiting loopholes in the immigration system.
Authorities added that the suspects would be profiled and handed over to appropriate agencies for further investigation and possible immigration action.
