The Oyo State chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC) has condemned the revocation of the bail granted to party leader and activist, Omoyele Sowore, describing the decision as unjust and politically motivated.
In a statement, the party argued that the move raises concerns about fairness, judicial independence, and the protection of fundamental rights in Nigeria’s democratic system.
AAC officials maintained that Sowore’s legal challenges are linked to his outspoken criticism of government policies and his long-standing activism on national issues.
The party called on relevant authorities to uphold the principles of justice, due process, and the rule of law, insisting that political differences should not influence judicial proceedings.
According to the group, democracy thrives when citizens are free to express their opinions without fear of intimidation or persecution.
The development has sparked fresh debate among political observers and civil society groups, with supporters and critics closely monitoring the ongoing legal proceedings involving the activist.
