Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates to be courageous and determined, saying political power is never handed over on a platter.
Speaking at a political gathering, Wike said anyone seeking elective office must be prepared to work hard, mobilise support, and fight democratically for victory at the polls.
According to him, successful politicians do not wait for opportunities to come to them but create the momentum needed to win elections through strategic planning and grassroots engagement.
The former Rivers State governor encouraged PDP candidates to remain focused and united as preparations for the 2027 general elections gradually gather pace.
Wike also stressed the importance of building strong political structures, connecting with the people, and earning the confidence of voters through effective leadership and service.
He urged party members not to be discouraged by political challenges, insisting that victory can only be achieved through resilience, commitment, and collective effort.
His remarks come amid renewed political consultations and realignments across the country as parties begin positioning ahead of the 2027 elections.
