NIGERIA NEEDS COMPETENT, COMPASSIONATE LEADER — PETER OBI
Former Anambra State Governor and NDC presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said Nigeria requires competent, accountable, and compassionate leadership to unlock its enormous potential and address the country’s socio-economic challenges.
Speaking at a public engagement, Obi stressed that effective leadership is essential to tackling insecurity, reducing poverty, creating jobs, and restoring public confidence in government.
According to him, Nigeria is richly endowed with human and natural resources but has yet to fully harness them due to poor leadership and weak governance.
He called for leaders who prioritise the welfare of citizens, promote transparency and accountability, and make decisions based on the national interest rather than personal or political considerations.
Obi also emphasised the need for prudent management of public resources, investment in education and healthcare, support for businesses, and policies that encourage economic growth and productivity.
He urged Nigerians to remain actively involved in the democratic process and support leaders who demonstrate integrity, competence, and a genuine commitment to national development.
The former presidential candidate reaffirmed his belief that with responsible leadership and effective institutions, Nigeria can overcome its challenges and achieve sustainable economic growth and prosperity.
