MAKINDE SEEKS END TO LAUTECH HOSPITAL STRIKE
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appealed to striking workers at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital to call off their industrial action, assuring them that their demands would be addressed.
The governor’s appeal comes amid efforts to resolve the dispute and restore normal activities at the hospital.
Makinde also disclosed that the state’s monthly wage bill has risen to ₦18 billion, highlighting the financial commitments involved in paying workers’ salaries and meeting other obligations.
The strike has raised concerns about disruptions to healthcare services and the impact on patients who depend on the hospital for medical treatment.
The governor urged the workers to reconsider their position as efforts continue to address the issues behind the industrial action.
