MAKINDE: NIGERIA IS NOT WORKING, VOWS TO RESET COUNTRY
Oyo State Governor and Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential candidate, Seyi Makinde, has declared that Nigeria is not working, promising to reset the country through reforms across key sectors.
Makinde said his proposed agenda would prioritise education, security, economic development and fiscal federalism as part of efforts to address the country’s challenges.
On education, he pledged reforms aimed at improving the system and expanding opportunities for Nigerians. He also identified security as a major concern requiring stronger measures to protect lives and property.
On the economy, Makinde promised policies designed to improve economic performance and create better opportunities for citizens and businesses.
He also highlighted fiscal federalism, which involves a clearer distribution of financial resources and responsibilities between the federal, state and local governments, as a key part of his proposed reforms.
Makinde’s declaration comes as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election. His proposals outline his intended priorities, although details of the specific policies, funding and implementation plans would be needed to assess how they would work in practice.
