LIVE WITH PARENTS OR SHARE RENT, LAGOS DEPUTY GOV ADVISES YOUNG WORKERS1
The Lagos State Deputy Governor has advised young workers to consider living with their parents or sharing accommodation with friends and colleagues as a way of coping with the rising cost of living.
The Deputy Governor said young professionals should adopt practical financial strategies rather than put themselves under unnecessary pressure trying to maintain expensive lifestyles.
He suggested that sharing rent could significantly reduce housing expenses, particularly for young workers who are just starting their careers.
The advice comes amid increasing concerns over the cost of accommodation in Lagos, where rising rents and other living expenses continue to place pressure on workers.
The Deputy Governor also encouraged young people to explore long-term housing options, including mortgage opportunities, as they work towards achieving financial independence and owning their homes.
He stressed the importance of financial discipline and urged young workers to carefully manage their income, prioritise essential expenses and avoid spending beyond their means.
The government, he said, is also exploring measures to make housing more accessible and improve living conditions for residents.
The Deputy Governor acknowledged the difficulties faced by young workers but urged them to make realistic financial decisions while building their careers and planning for the future.
