European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde has dismissed speculation about her possible departure, insisting that she remains fully committed to leading the institution through ongoing economic challenges.
Lagarde reaffirmed her determination to remain at the helm of the ECB, stressing that maintaining price stability and tackling inflation remain top priorities for the eurozone.
The former International Monetary Fund (IMF) chief said global uncertainties, including geopolitical tensions, supply chain disruptions, and economic volatility, require steady leadership and coordinated policy responses.
According to her, the ECB will continue to take necessary measures to keep inflation under control while safeguarding economic stability across member states.
Her remarks come amid growing speculation about her future and increased scrutiny of central banks worldwide as they navigate inflationary pressures and slowing economic growth.
Financial markets and policymakers have closely watched the ECB’s actions in recent years as it balances the fight against inflation with concerns about economic expansion and consumer welfare.
