Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has vowed that there will be no safe haven for bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements hiding in the state’s forests.
The governor announced a renewed security offensive aimed at reclaiming forest areas that have allegedly been used as hideouts by criminal gangs operating across parts of the state.
As part of the strategy, Ododo said Forest Guards and other security personnel are being deployed to strengthen surveillance, gather intelligence, and flush out criminals from remote locations.
According to the governor, the operation is designed to restore public confidence, secure rural communities, and protect farmers, travelers, and residents from criminal attacks.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, insisting that Kogi would not surrender any part of its territory to bandits or violent criminals.
Ododo also called on residents to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information that could assist ongoing operations and help dismantle criminal networks.
