FUBARA TO PRESENT RIVERS 2026 BUDGET TODAY
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is set to present the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the Rivers State House of Assembly today, outlining his administration’s spending plans and development priorities for the coming fiscal year.
The proposed budget is expected to focus on key sectors including infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, security, and economic development as the state seeks to sustain growth and improve public service delivery.
Government officials say the budget will reflect the administration’s commitment to inclusive development, job creation, and the completion of ongoing projects across Rivers State.
The presentation follows the recent submission of the state’s 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), which provides the fiscal framework for the annual budget.
Lawmakers are expected to scrutinise the appropriation bill before its passage, with stakeholders expressing optimism that the budget will address the needs of residents and support sustainable economic growth.
Governor Fubara is also expected to highlight the performance of previous budget implementations and outline new initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.
The 2026 budget presentation marks another significant step in the state’s fiscal planning process as the government seeks legislative approval for its expenditure plans.
