FUBARA SUBMITS MEDIUM-TERM EXPENDITURE FRAMEWORK TO RIVERS ASSEMBLY
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has transmitted the state’s 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the Rivers State House of Assembly for consideration and approval.
The Medium-Term Expenditure Framework serves as a key fiscal planning document that outlines the government’s projected revenue, expenditure, and budget priorities over a three-year period.
Governor Fubara said the framework is designed to promote prudent financial management, ensure fiscal discipline, and align government spending with the state’s development objectives.
According to the state government, the MTEF will provide the foundation for the preparation of future annual budgets while supporting investments in critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and economic development.
The governor expressed confidence that the Assembly would give the proposal prompt consideration to enable the government continue implementing policies aimed at improving the welfare of Rivers residents.
Lawmakers are expected to review the framework before granting approval in line with the state’s budget preparation process.
The submission marks another step in the state’s fiscal planning process as the government seeks to sustain development projects and strengthen economic growth.
