FUBARA PLEDGES SUSTAINED PARTNERSHIP WITH ARMY TO TACKLE ECONOMIC SABOTAGE

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has pledged continued collaboration with the Nigerian Army to protect critical infrastructure and tackle economic sabotage across the state.
Fubara made the commitment while receiving senior officers of the Nigerian Army, stressing the importance of a strong partnership between the state government and the military in maintaining peace and protecting key economic assets.
The governor said Rivers State remains strategically important to Nigeria’s economy, particularly because of its oil and gas resources and other critical infrastructure.
He noted that any attack, vandalism or disruption of such facilities could have serious consequences for both the state and the national economy.
Fubara therefore called for sustained security efforts to protect critical assets and prevent activities capable of undermining economic development.
The governor commended the Nigerian Army for its efforts in maintaining security and supporting the protection of vital infrastructure in the state.
He assured the military of the state government’s continued support and cooperation, saying the government would work with security agencies to create an environment where businesses and residents can operate safely.
Fubara also stressed the need for security agencies to remain professional and focused on protecting lives and property while carrying out their responsibilities.
The governor said tackling economic sabotage requires cooperation between government, security agencies and other relevant stakeholders.
He maintained that protecting Rivers State’s economic assets is not only important for the state but also for Nigeria as a whole.
The Nigerian Army has continued to play a significant role in security operations across the Niger Delta, particularly in efforts to protect oil installations and combat activities such as pipeline vandalism and crude oil theft.
The latest commitment from the Rivers State Government is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the state and the military in addressing security challenges and safeguarding critical infrastructure.
