The Federal Government has reaffirmed its support for the Mining Marshals of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), commending their ongoing crackdown on illegal mining activities across the country.
Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, praised the operatives for their efforts in protecting Nigeria’s mineral resources and combating economic sabotage within the mining sector.
He warned illegal miners and their collaborators to desist from unlawful activities, stressing that the government will not tolerate practices that deprive the nation of valuable revenue and investment opportunities.
According to the minister, the enforcement campaign is part of broader reforms aimed at sanitising the mining industry, attracting legitimate investors, and ensuring that Nigeria benefits fully from its vast mineral wealth.
The Federal Government also pledged continued support for security agencies involved in the fight against illegal mining, vowing to strengthen monitoring and enforcement measures nationwide.
