FCT NSCDC TO SANCTION PRIVATE SECURITY FIRMS WITH EXPIRED LICENCES
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command, has warned that private security companies operating with expired or fake licences will face sanctions as part of an ongoing enforcement exercise.
The command said the crackdown is aimed at ensuring compliance with regulations governing the operations of private guard companies and strengthening security standards across the FCT.
According to the NSCDC, all private security firms are expected to maintain valid operating licences and comply with the provisions of the law to continue providing security services.
The corps warned that companies found operating illegally or with expired licences risk penalties, including suspension of operations, prosecution, and other regulatory sanctions.
Officials said the exercise is intended to eliminate unlicensed operators, improve professionalism within the private security industry, and enhance public confidence in security service providers.
The NSCDC urged private guard companies to renew their licences promptly and comply with all regulatory requirements to avoid enforcement actions.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that only duly licensed and qualified security firms operate within the Federal Capital Territory.
