EFFICIENT JUSTICE SYSTEM CRITICAL TO LAGOS ECONOMY – AG
Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, has said an efficient and effective justice system is critical to attracting investment and sustaining economic growth in the state.
Pedro said the administration of justice plays an important role in creating a stable environment where businesses and investors can operate with confidence.
He noted that investors require certainty around contracts, property rights, dispute resolution and the enforcement of agreements before committing resources to any economy.
The Attorney-General said Lagos was therefore focused on improving the justice system through reforms aimed at making the courts more accessible, efficient and responsive to the needs of residents and businesses.
According to him, reducing delays in the resolution of commercial disputes would help strengthen confidence in Lagos as a business destination and support the state’s wider economic ambitions.
He also stressed the importance of collaboration among the judiciary, legal practitioners, government agencies and other stakeholders in improving the administration of justice.
Pedro said continued investment in justice-sector reforms would contribute not only to the protection of citizens’ rights but also to the creation of an environment capable of supporting sustainable economic development.
