EDO GOV NOMINATES IGIEBOR TO HEAD ECOLOGICAL FUNDING COMMISSION

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has nominated Terry Igiebor as Chairman of the Edo State Ecological Funding and Management Commission as part of efforts to strengthen environmental protection and sustainable development across the state.
The nomination, which has been forwarded for the necessary legislative consideration and approval, is expected to bolster the state’s response to environmental challenges, including erosion, flooding, waste management, and ecological degradation.
Governor Okpebholo said the commission plays a critical role in coordinating ecological projects and ensuring that environmental intervention funds are effectively utilised for the benefit of communities.
According to the state government, Igiebor’s appointment is aimed at bringing experience, leadership, and strategic direction to the commission as it works to address pressing environmental concerns.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives, property, and critical infrastructure through proactive environmental management and sustainable ecological policies.
Residents and stakeholders have expressed hope that the commission will accelerate intervention projects and strengthen efforts to mitigate the impact of environmental hazards across Edo State.
